BS Insider: Purvish Pandya - The QA Visionary at Bombay Softwares

16th June, 2025

Could you introduce yourself and give us a brief overview of your role and responsibilities at Bombay Softwares?

Hi, I’m Purvish Pandya, a Senior Software Engineer in Test (SDET 2) at Bombay Softwares.

I began my journey with the company in 2019 as a Fresher Quality Analyst, and over the years, I've grown into a leadership role within the QA domain.

Currently, I lead the QA team and oversee certain aspects of project management to ensure that every product we deliver is bug-free, stable, and performs seamlessly.

I handle both manual and automation testing based on project needs. I lead the technical side to maintain high-quality standards and actively participate in client demo calls, suggesting improvements for better product delivery.

I'm also involved in planning office cultural activities to help keep the work environment positive and enjoyable.

What inspired you to pursue a career in the tech industry, and how did you land at Bombay Softwares?

I have an M.Tech in Embedded Systems and VLSI, which sparked my interest in working with the latest technologies.

I chose the IT field because, as a Quality Analyst, I could not only learn new technologies but also apply my knowledge to ensure the quality of products.

I got the opportunity to give an interview at Bombay Softwares and, after successfully cracking it, I joined the company in 2018. What drew me to the company is the freedom to bring creative ideas to the table in an environment where there's no judgment.

What is the most appealing aspect of being part of the BS team?

From the very first day, I’ve noticed that there’s no boss culture, no office politics, and no toxic work environment here. Everyone, including the seniors and the company admin team, is incredibly supportive.

They are enthusiastic and always encourage me to give my best, pushing me to explore new testing strategies in both manual and automation testing.

Could you share a project that you take immense pride in?

I’ve worked on many different projects in fields like education, e-commerce, health and fitness, finance, and telecommunications.

But one project I’m really proud of is a finance application for yacht and crew management.

From a QA perspective, I was involved in ensuring the platform worked seamlessly. I tested its integration with both financial processes and yacht/crew operations, identifying and fixing any bugs.

This helped deliver a smooth and reliable user experience.

Tell us about the team at Bombay Softwares and the company culture. How do you foster innovation and collaboration within your organisation?

At Bombay Softwares, the team is like a family. The work environment is supportive and collaborative, and there's a strong focus on keeping things positive and encouraging.

We don’t have a “boss culture” here, and that helps everyone feel comfortable and motivated to contribute ideas freely.

As a senior member of the team, I make sure to foster an environment where everyone feels empowered to share their thoughts.

The culture here is what truly sets us apart. It’s a place where everyone’s voice matters, and we work together to create the best possible outcomes.

How do you spend your time outside of work?

I love spending time with my family. Outside of that, I enjoy travelling, exploring new places, and spending time in nature, as I believe it’s important to maintain a healthy work-life balance to recharge for new challenges.

Table tennis and cricket are my favourite sports, and I often play box cricket with my office friends. I also make it a point to stay updated by reading the latest news and articles.
