BS Insider: Akshay Parte - Software Visionary at Bombay Softwares

26th Nov, 2023

Could you introduce yourself and give us a brief overview of your role and responsibilities at Bombay Softwares?

Hello, I'm Akshay Parte, currently serving as a Staff Software Engineer - Technology at Bombay Softwares (BS). In my role, I wear several hats, each contributing to the dynamic and innovative environment that defines BS.

My role involves coding complex modules, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and maintaining high-quality standards. I'm dedicated to innovation, staying updated on industry trends, and driving continuous improvement in development processes.

Effective communication is key in my interactions with teams and stakeholders, fostering a collaborative culture. I'm committed to mentoring junior engineers for their professional growth at BS.

What inspired you to pursue a career in the tech industry, and how did you land at Bombay Softwares?

I got into coding because I love how it can make things easier and error-free. Seeing computer programs do the heavy lifting and reduce manual work always fascinated me.

As a software developer, I was already in the game. That's when I stumbled upon Bombay Softwares (BS). Heard some good things about them, read positive reviews, and it piqued my interest.

What drew me in was the chance to be part of a team that's not just about work but also about pushing boundaries. The reviews weren't wrong – there's a real commitment to doing cool stuff here.

So, I made the move to BS. Now, every day feels like a chance to create, learn, and be part of something bigger. I'm proud to be a part of a company that shares these values and provides a platform for continuous learning and innovation.

What is the most appealing aspect of being part of the BS team?

It's the vibe of constant growth and creativity.

Here, every day feels like a chance to bring ideas to life and learn something new.

The teamwork is solid, and the enthusiasm for innovation is contagious.

It's a community where everyone is pushing for success together.

That's what makes being part of the BS team truly exciting.

Could you share a project that you take immense pride in?

One project that stands out for me is related to technical aspects of Lightweight and Protective Administration. It was a bit of a challenge since it delved into a new domain, and we were using cutting-edge technology.

This project is all about security, following the core principles of Just in Time (JIT) Administration, Principle of Least Privilege (PoLP). Being part of something that pushes the boundaries of security measures was truly thrilling.

While all projects are important, this one holds a special place as it not only expanded my expertise but also added a new layer of innovation to our work at BS.

Tell us about the team at Bombay Softwares and the company culture. How do you foster innovation and collaboration within your organisation?

At Bombay Softwares, the team is a powerhouse of young and dynamic individuals. It's a mix of talent and passion, with everyone deeply committed to their work. There's a genuine love for what we do, and that energy translates into some fantastic outcomes.

The company culture is all about flexibility and friendliness. We thrive in a workspace where the atmosphere is as welcoming as it is productive. It's not just about the work; it's about enjoying the journey together.

    Fostering Innovation and Collaboration

I'm all about making sure we share ideas and work together as a team. In our regular chats and brainstorming sessions, everyone gets a chance to speak up and contribute their thoughts.

I like to keep things flat and open, meaning there's no hierarchy blocking good ideas. We celebrate new thoughts and encourage trying out different approaches without any stress.
